Artist's Description
This beautiful Short-eared Owl came out a little before dusk and began scanning the fields in search of mice and voles. These owls migrate from Alaska and Canada and spend the winter in southern Indiana on reclaimed strip mine fields.
About Julie Barrick
I started getting interested in photography about the time my family and I were planning our first trip to Yellowstone. My love for photography has grown immensely since that first trip out west 10 years ago. My primary focus is on wildlife, but I also love photographing the night sky and landscapes. I get all of my inspiration from God as he is the creator and sustainer of such magnificence. I love photographing animals at our farm in Kentucky. Whether it be our farm animals or the abundant wildlife, there is always something to photograph out there.
